Each piece captures a magical, mysterious world—where the surface is just the beginning, and the depths reveal boundless potential for growth, power, and wonder.
Celebrating the beauty of the female form and the universal pursuit of dreams, this collection highlights water as more than a backdrop: it’s a catalyst, a stage, and a sanctuary for self-discovery.

Jarrah creates classic compositions inspired by the past. His fine art paintings convey a strong feeling of passion and genuine curiosity in the beauty that surrounds him.

Jarrah's artwork is eclectic. He paints, photographs, and works with stone. He is not limited to a single theme, and inspiration comes from a range of sources. Jarrah lets the inspiration flow over him, immersing himself in the moment.

Jarrah's personal trips frequently serve as inspiration for her diverse themes. On his excursions, Jarrah hunts for instances that pique his attention. He is attracted to culture. To be able to capture the experience in art, he must first live it.

Stephen Skinner

Biography

Stephen Skinner, an Australian artist originally from Northern Beaches, NSW, crafts abstract works characterized by a captivating blend of colour and texture. His art draws from the ocean, local landscapes, and sandy beaches, reflecting a dynamic interplay of simplicity and energetic process. With a self-taught background and influences from Miro, Monet, Rothko, Richter and Picasso, Steve's spontaneous style and precise use of colour result in diverse and engaging canvases.

BRIAN CONNOLLY ‘HEAD IN THE FLOWERS’ SOLO EXHIBITION 16TH OCTOBER -16TH DECEMBER 2020

Join us for the solo exhibition of ‘HEAD IN THE FLOWERS ’, a series of original works by Byron Bay based artist Brian Connolly opening at Newrybar Merchants on Friday 16th October from 5-7pm.

“My artworks are shaped by a diarist approach and an inquiry into the human psyche. Centred around personal growth of the spiritual self, subjects of light and dark flow through my works. The flowers in my work represent a bridge between the natural world and human life and the idea that we all have an internal garden that we must continuously nourish. In my paintings, I depict whimsical and ethereal figures, with elements of naivety which reinforces the idea of finding the true beauty in the imperfect.”

Date: Friday 16th October 2020

Time: 5pm - 7pm

Cost: FREE
